In the past, if a car buyer was looking to make a custom order purchase, it usually meant that it was a rare (and expensive) car or they were looking for something very specific. Either way, the car buyers were happy to pay for the benefit of getting something exclusive, even if they knew it would take time to finish the special order. The status symbol of getting a unique car outweighed the extended wait time rather than purchasing a new car off the lot. Fast forward to today, and the landscape has greatly changed. You may never again see rows of new vehicles to select from, so when you need something different, then custom ordering from the manufacturer is your best option. If you need a car immediately, purchasing from the available vehicles on the lot is your only option.
The fun part of custom ordering is that you can choose the exact upgrades you want. You can choose the big navigation screen, leather seating, and AWD, and it can even be your favorite color: blue! When purchasing a vehicle that’s in stock, you may have compromised depending on vehicles that were in stock. You might be able to get all of the features you wanted, but it was Front-Wheel Drive instead of AWD. Or you could get All-Wheel Drive, but it comes with cloth seats, not leather. When you custom order, you can get what you want.
On the other hand, when you custom order your brand-new vehicle from the factory, you don’t have to compromise with features you don’t need. Perhaps you wanted NAV and All-Wheel Drive but didn’t care about the vehicle color or leather seats. While you may not be able to choose each option by itself, yet by custom ordering your new car, you can minimize the pricey upgrades. Be sure to check out any available option packages, as they often offer popular upgrades combined together.
